Kid Cudi is one of my favorite artists ever. I still think Man on the Moon, Vol. II: The Legend of Mr. Rager is one of the most ambitious and brilliant forays into the mind of a person struggling with mental health issues. It’s got layers. When Kid Cudi decided that he needed to step away and get his mind right, I was happy for him because sometimes you just need to get away.
In the middle of a long series of Tweets that will make up a philosophy “book” that Kanye West announced that he’s writing on Twitter, the MC casually mentioned on Thursday that he’s dropping not one, but two new albums next month. According to his tweets, one will be a solo album containing seven songs on June 1, to be followed by an album with Kid Cudi on June 8. West added that his new group with Cudi is called Kids See Ghost. West’s rep did not immediately respond to Variety‘s request for more information.
After a few months of speculation, Kanye West has confirmed that not one, but two new new albums are on the way. A seven-track solo release is out on June 1, he tweeted, followed one week later (June 8) by a collaboration with Kid Cudi. “It’s called Kids See Ghost. That’s the name of our group,” he tweeted. Kanye West filed a trademark application for “Kids See Ghost” back in November, for coverage of everything from merch to streaming services to films and TV shows.
