Supreme Court Declines Surrogate Custody Appeal

The US Supreme Court refused to intervene in a custody dispute between Alaska surrogate McKenna West and California couple Omar Ahmed and Nausheen Gilkar over a baby born with a serious heart defect. Justice Elena Kagan denied West's emergency request to halt a California court.
