Mattie Music Group, owners of Bill Withers' catalog, filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against Olivia Dean's record label, claiming her song 'I've Seen It' copies elements of 'Just the Two of Us'. The suit was filed in US federal court in Los Angeles.
Nathan Cofnas, the academic who accused late Cambridge professor Jason Arday of plagiarism, has been suspended by his university. The allegations were not formally proven, and Cofnas is now being investigated for discrimination against Arday.
Jason Arday, who resigned from Cambridge University after plagiarism accusations, was found dead at his London home on Friday. His family cited a "campaign of misinformation" as too much to bear.
