Flash Floods Devastate Nepal and Grand Canyon
💡 Why it matters
Grand Canyon's only water pipeline was destroyed, forcing overnight lodging restrictions and leaving residents and tourists without reliable water during more incoming storms.
Flash floods killed nearly 800 people in Nepal and hit Arizona's Grand Canyon, where one man died and about 15 remain missing. Nepali headteacher Rajendra Dawadi evacuated 900 students to higher ground after receiving upstream warnings.
