Kennedy Center Faces Demolition Threat Amid Protests
💡 Why it matters
If demolished, the Kennedy Center's closure would devastate Washington's performing arts scene and eliminate a historic national landmark.
BBC News reports that the Kennedy Center had a surplus of millions of dollars in 2024 after accounting for contributions and grants. The Guardian reports thousands protested outside the venue on Friday, fearing President Trump plans to demolish the institution.
