Michael Marra Wins Scottish Labour Leadership
💡 Why it matters
This shift could reshape Scotland's energy debate and test Labour's electoral appeal ahead of the next Holyrood election, especially in oil-dependent regions.
Michael Marra has been elected as the new Scottish Labour leader with a near two-thirds majority. In his first significant act, Marra backed the Rosebank and Jackdaw oil and gasfields, advocating for a 'more rational' energy policy.
