Nigel Farage Skips Clacton Byelection Count Amid Police Warning
💡 Why it matters
This byelection and the resumed investigation could further erode public trust in Farage and Reform UK, potentially affecting their future electoral prospects.
Nigel Farage won the Clacton byelection but avoided the count after Essex police warned of a plot to embarrass him. He pre-emptively declared victory, claiming more votes than in 2024, while a standards watchdog resumed its investigation into his financial gifts.
