Premier League clubs looking to EFL for next Semenyo & Eze

🐿️ The Squirrel's Take

Premier League clubs are treating EFL academies as cost-effective development farms, poaching breakout stars before they even debut in the first team.

💡 Why it matters

This trend widens the financial and competitive gap between the Premier League and lower leagues, as EFL clubs lose their best young talents for minimal compensation.

Premier League clubs are increasingly scouting English Football League (EFL) and Scottish academies for young talents, targeting players like Antoine Semenyo and Eberechi Eze who have made successful transitions to top-flight football. These clubs are filling their U21 and B-team squads with promising prospects from lower leagues.
