Fat Marmot Week Kicks Off with Conservation Goal
💡 Why it matters
The campaign could generate crucial funding for studying hibernation patterns and snow cover impacts, directly affecting high-altitude rodent survival.
First ever Fat Marmot Week begins Monday, inspired by Fat Bear Week, aiming to raise funds for marmot research. The event highlights a tough winter where two-thirds of a Colorado marmot population died due to lack of snow cover.
